Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Music hits 38M paid subscribers, up 2M from last month, according to the company and reported by Reuters news.
Amazon Music Unlimited has 16 million paying subscribers, and Pandora Media Inc (P.N) has 5.48 million total subscribers. Google does not release paid subscriber numbers for its service, Google Play Music.
Apple-Netflix speculation has drifted about for years.
As of this summer, Spotify said it had more than 140 million monthly active users when including both paid and free users.
