Top-seed Daniil Medvedev of Russia rolled to a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut to advance to the semifinals of Terra Wortmann Open at Halle, Germany.

Medvedev had eight aces to none for Bautista Agut, while winning 82.2 percent of his first-serve points. The seventh-seeded Bautista Agut saved just two of five break points.

The victory in one hour, 27 minutes sets up a semifinal matchup between Medvedev and Germany’s Oscar Otte, who was a 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 winner over No. 8 seed Karen Khachanov of Russia.

In the other semifinal, No. 5 seed Hubert Hurkacz of Poland will face wild-card Nick Kyrgios of Australia. Hurkacz was a 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4) winner over No. 4 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada, while Kyrgios defeated No. 6 seed Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain 6-4, 6-2.

Cinch Championships

No. 2 seed Matteo Berrettini of Italy set up a semifinal matchup against Botic van de Zandschulp of the Netherlands with an easy 6-4, 6-2 victory over Tommy Paul at London.

Berrettini, the defending champion, is now on a seven-match winning streak after winning last week at Stuttgart, Germany. He will now face van de Zandschulp, who was a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina of Spain.

In the other semifinal, Marin Cilic of Croatia will face Filip Krajinovic of Serbia. Cilic, the No. 7 seed, knocked off qualifier Emil Ruusuvuori of Finland 7-6 (2), 6-4, while Krajinovic defeated wild card Ryan Peniston of Great Britain 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
