According to authorities, the shooter who opened fire in downtown Louisville on Monday, killing five people and injuring eight others, lawfully purchased the AR-15 rifle used in the incident. Investigators reported that Connor Sturgeon, 25, died in the shootout with police. According to the authorities, Sturgeon fired several rounds inside the structure before turning his rifle on the responding policemen and killing himself.
According to Interim Chief of the Louisville Metro Police Department Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel, Connor Sturgeon bought the handgun from a dealer in Louisville on April 4 — six days before the assault. The 25-year-old’s employment at the bank at the time of the incident was also confirmed by the authorities.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Connor most recently worked as syndications associate and portfolio banker when he was employed full-time by Old National Bank in June 2021.
The people of Louisville are coming together to assist a police officer from the Louisville Metro Police Department who was seriously hurt while responding to the mass shooting that occurred at the Old National Bank building in downtown Louisville on Monday.
