‘Boris-Brexit’ – Europe Says Goodbye to Boris Johnson Without Remorse

London, UK – April 20th 2022: A protester outside the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London, protesting against Boris Johnson and the Partygate saga.

Europe Press Waved Final Goodbye as the Prime Minister of Great Britain. Boris Johnson was the person who got the UK out of the European Union.

Boris Johnson’s rocky tenure at No 10 has come to an end. The ‘botched’ handling of sexual misconduct allegations against ex-Tory deputy chief whip Christopher Pincher became the scandal that pulled the plug on Johnson’s premiership.

Boris Johnson AKA BoJo took over from his predecessor Theresa May after she survived a no-confidence vote by backbenchers  but was then told to resign by her party’s “men in grey suits” after disastrous European Parliament election results.
Johnson, who picked the winning side in the 2016 European Union membership referendum, sailed to victory over Remainer Jeremy Hunt, but was then faced with the task of striking an acceptable Brexit withdrawal agreement and trade deal with the EU.

Philippe Bernard, a columnist at France’s Le Monde, answered reader’s questions about UK politics.

When asked whether some Tory ministers supported Mr Johnson for too long to now cry foul, Mr Bernard responded: “It’s true, they swallowed a lot of snakes. But they owe their seat to the talent of juggler and the anti-European demagoguery of Boris Johnson.”
