Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”
FTD, the most prevalent form of dementia in adults under 60, might affect one’s behavior, personality, or movement in addition to creating communication difficulties.
Frontotemporal degeneration, or FTD for short, refers to a set of neurological conditions that affect the frontal and/or temporal lobes of the brain. When the condition worsens, a number of new symptoms frequently appear.

FTD cannot yet be slowed down or stopped by any therapy. Both a cure and a technique to stop it from starting to exist in vain. Seven to thirteen years on average pass after the onset of symptoms.
