Burger King Shares Tweet Asking Customers To Order Food From Long Time Rivals McDonald’s

Today, Monday, November 2, 2020 proved to be a surprising day for Burger King followers as they saw a post asking them to order from McDonald’s and other fast food chains in England. This tweet was sent out to its 58,600 followers and was retweeted more than 4,000 times and reached close to 10,000 likes.

As England prepares for its second lockdown on Thursday November 6, many businesses will be shutdown but unlike the March lockdown, this time delivery service, drive-thru and takeaway will remain open. So, fast food chains such as Burger King, KFC and McDonald’s and many others will remain open.

Burger King sent this tweet to promote sales for themselves and others including restaurant workers whose livelihood had been gravely affected by the first lockdown. The long tweet encouraged its customers to order food from sister concerns and added rivals names as well as gestures of solidarity towards the food and hospitality industry.

The final paras was “So, if you want to help, keep treating yourself to tasty meals, through home delivery, takeaway or drive-thru. Getting a Whooper is always best but ordering a Big Mac is also not such a bad thing. Take care, Team Burger King, UK.”
