Celebrity reality tv host Padma Lakshmi announced on social media that she is quitting the popular Bravo show ‘Top Chef.” The longtime host, who has also been a producer on the show, said that she was moving on and Season 20 would be her final one. She posted the news just one week before Season 20’s finale.
Celebrity host Padma Lakshmi expressed her pride in being part of the show for 17 years. She said the cast and crew were “like family” and she would miss working with them and more.
She added that she felt that it was “time to move on” and she needed time and space for her other “creative pursuits” that included the food and travel show “Taste the Nation” which is in its second season on Hulu. She also wanted to concentrate on her books and more.
Finally, she thanked everybody for “many years of love and support.”

Top Chef winners, web fans, Bravo family members and others commented on her post and expressed their admiration for her and sadness that she was leaving the show.
NBC also released a statement in appreciation of her work on the reality show Top Chef of which she was part for more than 17 years and 19 seasons. The statement also said that Padma Lakshmi had “a seat at the judges’ table anytime.”
Celebrity Padma Lakshmi will make her final appearance on Top Chef in the coming days. However, the reality star has a full schedule ahead of her as she continues on a trip across the U.S., for her newest show.
In her newest show Taste the Nation, celebrity host Padma Lakshmi focuses on different American cities and their cuisines.
Earlier, Padma Lakshmi had said that the travel and food series was her passion as she wanted to show what American food looked like in various locations across the nation which included Greek food in Florida, Nigerian food in Texas and Appalachian food in the South Mountains.
