Lisa Marie Presley has died at the age of 54. The only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley, passed away on Thursday at the age of 54, just hours after being taken to the hospital after going into cardiac arrest at her Calabasas, California, home. Benjamin Keough, Presley’s son, passed away in 2020, and in her final Instagram post before passing away, she discussed loss.
In a statement to the world by the family they said, “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie,” “They are profoundly grateful for the support, love, and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
At the Golden Globes on January 10, Lisa Marie and Priscilla Presley witnessed Austin Butler receive the award for best lead actor in a drama for his starring performance in “Elvis”. Mother and daughter attended the “Elvis'” pre-Globes celebration on Sunday, where the family celebrated the King of Rock ‘n Roll’s 88th birthday. Lisa Marie said at the celebration “I am so amazed by this movie, its impact, and what Austin has accomplished. I’m so proud. I’m sure my father would be very proud.
After her father, grandfather, and great-grandmother passed away, she received Graceland, her father, Elvis’s home. When she turned 25, she also received Elvis Presley’s whole estate. She retained ownership of Graceland and later sold 85% of the estate to Industrial Media. At that time, the value of the estate was $100 million in 2005.
Benjamin Keough, her son, committed suicide in 2020 by shooting himself. Presley and her ex-husband Michael Lockwood share twin daughters Finley and Harper in addition to Riley Keough. She was previously married to Nicholas Cage, Michael Jackson for two years, and singer Danny Keough before Lockwood. Meanwhile, Keough’s father, Danny Keough, had a solid career and traveled as a musician for jazz great Chick Corea. The 1984 relocation of the Chicago native to California led to their meeting at the Los Angeles Celebrity Center for the Church of Scientology.
