Celebrity Disney alum Selena Gomez was the most followed person in the world in 2017, on the social media platform Instagram. Celebrity Cristiano Ronaldo overtook her later in the year. In 2019, celebrity singer Ariana Grande overtook Selena Gomez and later reality star Kylie Jenner overtook both of them.
