Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, the Weeknd, Selena Gomez, Jazmine Sullivan, and LCD Soundsystem are among the artists on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ shortlists for Best Original Song, which were announced today.

Taylor Swift, whose video for “All Too Well” was denied a nomination for Best Live Action Short Film, could still be nominated for her song “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing.

“Where the Crawdads Sing is a book I got completely lost in when I read it years ago,” Taylor Swift said of her summer contribution on Instagram. “I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side as soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon.” WebFans are super excited.

Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which was also nominated for a number of technical awards including visual effects, sound, and original score, could also earn her her first nomination. “Lift Me Up” was the singer’s first release as a lead artist in six years, adding to the excitement and sighs for #R9.

Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar: The Way of Water, two of the year’s biggest films, were also nominated for best original song (among other technical awards). Lady Gaga (“Shallow” from A Star Is Born) could win again with “Hold My Hand” from Tom Cruise’s blockbuster, while the Weeknd’s “Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)” from Avatar could earn him his second nomination in this category. That Canadian falsetto previously received an Oscar nomination for “Earned It” from Fifty Shades of Grey.

Selena Gomez’s song “My Mind & Me,” from her documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, Jazmine Sullivan’s contribution to the film Till, “Stand Up,” and LCD Soundsystem’s “New Body Rhumba” from White Noise are also on the shortlist for Best Original Song.
