Fans of Popeyes Chicken Sandwich are in for an additional treat as the food giant has added Chicken Nuggets to its menu and yes, it has the same batter that is used in the Chicken Sandwich. This new poultry item is sure to gladden the hearts of its regular customers and bring in new ones but will sadden the hearts of Chick-fil-A and others as they now have competition in the Chicken Nuggets market space.

On Tuesday, Popeyes said that from July 27 orders will be fulfilled for its chicken nuggets. White meat chicken breast will be marinated for 12 hours. It will be battered and breaded using butter milk and fried with the same seasoning that is used for its popular chicken sandwiches.

Customers can order small, medium or large servings ranging from 4 pieces to 36 pieces in-store. However, online customers will also have a bigger option of ordering as many as 48 nuggets.

Sam Siddiqui, president of Popeyes said in a release that their new Chicken Nuggets were unlike anything a consumer may have experienced before and it was just like their game changing chicken sandwich.

He also added that they aim to show the world, once again, the magic of Popeyes chicken with their new nuggets. They said that they believed that the crunchy pieces, delicious and juicy chicken nuggets would have guests question how they ever enjoyed chicken nuggets before they tried the ones from Popeyes.

Following a food battle with Chick-fil-A in 2019, Popeyes introduced a new chicken sandwich. Americans waited in very long queues in drives-thru lines just to get a single sandwich. Within three weeks of its debut, the new sandwich became a totally sold-out item.

In October, it was added to the regular menu and returned to the stores, where it is still extremely popular. Later this month, the response to the new Chicken nuggets will also be known but it promises to be a good response as the same batter will reportedly be used by Popeyes.

The nuggets can be paired with Popeyes popular sauces such as

  • Bayou Buffalo
  • BoldBQ
  • Blackened Ranch
  • Buttermilk Ranch
  • Mardi Gras Mustard
  • Sweet Heat.
