Coach Brian Flores Miami Dolphins Replaces Ryan Fitzpatrick With Tua Tagovailoa as QB

Credit Twitter

Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores announced a new quarterback for the team on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. He said that Tua Tagovailoa will start as their quarterback on November 1, 2020, when they play against the Los Angeles Rams. When asked for a reason for the switch he said that Tagovailoa had improved a lot during practice, that he was ready for the new role and that there was an feeling that it was time for the change within the organization.

On the other hand this move sends Fitzpatrick to the bench. He has been playing well. However, he knew and was expecting this change. He called himself a “placeholder” for Tagovailoa and said that he would be his biggest cheerleader.

Flores said, “Fitz has been great. He’s been great really for the last year and a half. He added, “Fitz, the way he handles himself and his impact on the team, will still be there. He’s been a tremendous asset and leader on this team.”

The change was on the news on ESPN, other channels and media before Flores addressed the team and he has subsequently apologized that they first found the news through social media.
