DOTA News: RNG enjoy strong Day 2 at The International 2022

Royal Never Give Up swept both matches Sunday to surge to the top of Group A after two days of group stage action at The International 2022 in Singapore.

RNG posted 2-0 wins against Soniqs and Gaimin Gladiators to overtake Evil Geniuses. EG suffered their first loss in a sweep by Team Liquid before bouncing back with a 2-0 win against Hokori.

PSG.LGD also recorded two sweeps against OG and Liquid to move into a third-place tie in Group A with those two teams.

In Group B action, Team Aster are alone in first place after posting 2-0 wins against TSM and beastcoast and a 1-1 draw with Entity.

Tundra Esports moved into second place with sweeps against Team Secret and Talon Esports and a 1-1 draw with beastcoast. Sharing third place in Group B are Secret, Team Spirit and Thunder Awaken.

The group stage runs through Tuesday before the main event takes place Oct. 20-23 and Oct. 29-30. Twenty teams are competing in a round robin in two groups. All group-stage matches are best-of-two series. The top four teams in each group will advance to the upper bracket of the main event, teams Nos. 5-8 will start in the lower bracket, and the last-place teams will be eliminated.
