Elon Musk mocked disgraced influencer Andrew Tate on Friday after he was arrested in Romania on suspicion of sex trafficking and human trafficking.
Tate had attributed his arrest to the ‘Matrix’ dispatching ‘their agents’ after him. He, his brother Tristan, and two Romanian nationals are accused of luring female victims into their circle and then forcing them to engage in online sex work.

Andrew Tate’s account retweeted Musk’s matrix meme, though it is unclear whether Tate is in control of his account, as the influencer is still being held by authorities in Romanian jail.

Romanian prosecutors asked a Bucharest court to extend the arrest by 30 days, according to a statement from the anti-organized crime unit.
Andrew Tate and his brother, along with two Romanian nationals, have been under investigation since April.
On Thursday, video surfaced on social media that appears to show Tate and his sibling being led away from a luxury villa.
Following raids on his villa and other properties near Bucharest, the prolific social media personality, 36, was detained for 24 hours alongside his brother Tristan as part of the criminal investigation, Romanian prosecutors said.
In a statement, Romania’s Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) confirmed that cops raided five homes associated with four suspects as part of an investigation into organized crime, human trafficking, and rape. It did not name the four suspects, but stated that two were Romanian citizens and two were British citizens who allegedly held at least six women captive in houses around Bucharest, sexually assaulting them and forcing them to produce pornography for social media under threat of violence.
According to Romania TV, one of the Romanian suspects is a former Bucharest cop who is dating one of the Tates.
The brothers are accused of luring women to lavish villas using the “loverboy method,” in which they faked a relationship on social media before convincing the women to travel to Romania to pursue a romantic relationship.

According to local news site G4, they allegedly kept women in a small studio where they were forced to work as pornographic models for OnlyFans and other websites.
Mr Tate has been banned from other social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, with TikTok also removing him, saying “misogyny is a hateful ideology that is not tolerated”. Fans are waiting for more news to come out.
