If this bill passes, your freedom to move about the internet will be hindered, and your internet provider will have the ability to favor or block particular websites.

The opposition filed a the following brief against it :

800+ companies from all 50 states are calling on  Federal Communications Commission  Chairman Ajit Pai to protect a free & open internet. With out net neutrality, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) could slow down a specific company’s internet traffic because that company can’t afford or didn’t pay for the internet fast lane putting them at a competitive disadvantage.
