On Tuesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the Florida Supreme Court should impanel a grand jury that would investigate whether there were any wrongdoings that might have been involved with the COVID vaccine. He announced this after a panel including Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo and other skeptics discussed COVID policies.
DeSantis wants the grand jury to probe mRNA vaccine makers as the panel believed that they withheld data on vaccine and heart problems. He is hoping that the data will be obtained by the panel.
The Republican governor was a strong critic of lockdowns, masks and vaccines during the pandemic. Now, he wants the state’s highest court to investigate the use of vaccines in Florida, to find out whether there were any long-term ill effects due to the vaccines.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that although myocarditis, which is inflammation of the heart muscle and pericarditis, which is inflammation of the heart’s outer lining, can occur after COVID-19 vaccination, the occurrences of such inflammation is rare.
The CDC also reported that those who were affected by either of the two illnesses had responded well to medicine and rest. The study by CDC that was published in the Lancet said that the patients recovered after 90 days.
Several studies have been undertaken on the link of COVID-19 vaccines to heart problems. The studies found that these problems are rare as well as mild enough that the risks are less than the health benefits provided by the COVID-19 vaccines.
The statewide grand jury to study the relationship between COVID vaccines and heart problems is the latest one called by Governor DeSantis. Earlier, he has impaneled two grand juries for the following:
School Safety Procedures and
Illegal Immigration Rules.
Both the juries have asked for changes to be made in policies and laws.
