On Monday, former Bachelor host Chris Harrison announced his engagement to Lauren Zima on Instagram (IG). She accepted his proposal and he expressed his love for her and said that their “next chapter” started “now!” He posted a photo of himself in a traditional pose, on bended knee as he slipped the engagement ring into her finger. The background was a beautiful vista at a winery in Napa Valley, California.
Lauren Zima, who is 33, and a host and correspondent at Entertainment Tonight (ET), replied with her own longer post on IG. She called him an “incredible partner” and also mentioned “the next amazing chapter and all the rest.” Her photo on IG showed them exhibiting some public demonstration of affection (PDA), once again against a vista of the lush Napa Valley.
Chris and Lauren have been together from over two years. They made their relationship public a couple of years ago at the pre-SAG awards. They posed together on the red carpet in January 2019.
The 50-year old host was recently involved in a controversy on his show Bachelor and he had to leave the popular show roughly four months ago. Lauren stood by his side as he faced backlash for his comments which led to him stepping down as host. He had backed contestant Rachael Kirkconnell.
Rachel Kirkconnell’s 2018 photos showed her as a participant in an Old South plantation-themed fraternity event. It was considered to be racist and she has apologized, since. The controversy cost him his longstanding job. In an interview his comments and backing of her were perceived to perpetuate racism.

Chris Harrison moved away from the franchise in June 2021 as Warner Horizon and ABC Entertainment had announced that that he would not be hosting the next season of The Bachelorette. They also said that they support him in the work that he was “committed to doing.”
Both Chris Harrison and Lauren Zima have been married before. Chris was earlier married to Gwen Harrison. The marriage lasted for almost 18 years and they have two kids, Joshua and Taylor, together.
