Former President Barack Obama, one of the most popular Democratic Presidents, will be doing his bit for the party as he will campaign in Atlanta, Georgia; Detroit, Michigan; and Wisconsin, Milwaukee before the midterms next month. Obama has already helped raise money for Democrats who are fighting in the November elections.

On Saturday, the Democratic Party of Georgia released a statement which said that Obama will be in the state on October 28, to campaign with Democratic candidates but their names were not mentioned. He is expected to campaign for US Senator Raphael Warnock, Stacy Abrams and other nominees of the party. Georgia will see a few high-profile races for governor and Senate seats, as well as House races.

On October 29, President Obama is expected to join Democrats in Michigan at a get-out-the vote rally. Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist and other Democrats will join the former president.

On Friday, the Wisconsin Democratic Party had also announced that President Obama would campaign for nominees of the party, also on October 29. He is expected to campaign for Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes, Attorney General Josh Kaul and other nominees in Milwaukee including Rep. Gwen Moore.

In an interview, on Friday with Pod Save America, Obama said that that he thought that the great thing that the his party the Democrats had going for them was that they could deliver, “even with really slim majorities.”

In the podcast run by his former aides, former President Obama also said that one of the things he wanted to emphasize in the November midterms was “the importance of looking not just at the top of the ballot, but all the way down the bottom, because there are governor’s races, secretary of state’s races, state legislative races that are going to really matter.”

In 2012 and 2020, Obama had won both Michigan– the Great Lake State as well as Wisconsin– the Badger State. He didn’t win Georgia– the Peach State but President Joe Biden won the state in the 2020 elections. Bill Clinton was the last Democratic President who won Georgia in 1992.
