Celebrity actor of Marvel fame Jeremy Renner is in intensive care and has undergone a second surgery to treat his “extensive injuries” from a snowplow accident. The actor suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries after being run over by the snowcat he was using to plow his driveway.
Renner had his first surgery on Monday as part of a lengthy recovery process, but it has now been revealed that the superhero star might require additional surgeries on what will be a long road to recovery.
On Sunday, Jeremy Renner was airlifted after the safety feature on his Snowcat plough failed, sending it rolling over his legs. The ‘Hawkeye’ actor was trying to clear a path out of his Lake Tahoe home alone when the machine accidentally ran over one of his legs, according to TMZ.
A blunt chest trauma is a sudden or violent injury to the chest caused by tremendous pressure. It can be caused by a car or bike accident, or it can be caused by a fall.
Renner’s doctor neighbor managed to apply a tourniquet to the ‘Avengers’ star’s leg until paramedics took him to the hospital. His injuries are “extensive,” as other parts of his body have been injured in addition to his leg, according to the media outlet. When paramedics arrived, the actor had lost a lot of blood and was being helped by a doctor before being airlifted to the hospital.
Renner’s spokesperson previously stated that the actor was in “critical but stable condition” following the injury. “His family is there for him, and he is getting excellent care,” the spokesperson added. The Marvel star owns property in the Mount Rose-Ski Tahoe area.
Last month, as Lake Tahoe received a lot of snow, the actor posted several updates on social media. He wrote last week on an Instagram story featuring a snow plough, saying that he had nearly finished sledding the hill for his children. He also posted an image of a snow-covered vehicle.
