Toy Story 4 is still scheduled to hit theaters in 2019. John Lasseter stepping down isn’t a good sign and by the time its got to part 4 the franchise is dead. Fury Road was amazing though so fingers crossed this will be good!
Josh Cooley (the new director) has served as storyboard artist on many great Pixar films, co-wrote “Inside Out”, and directed “Riley’s First Date?”. Cooley is clearly qualified, it’s not like the job has been handed down to a coffee intern. Interesting fact too! Cooley voiced Jangles the Clown in “Inside Out”.
