Miley Cyrus handles wardrobe function with iconic panache, humor and professionalism

Miley Cyrus is an icon and the recent professionalism she showed while handling a wardrobe malfunction personifies the growth of the young Hannah Montana. During a live New Year’s Eve concert with Pete Davidson. Miley’s top almost fell off. She handled the mishap, without losing a beat and continued to enthrall the audience.

As she sang the hit track “Party in the U.S.A.” her chainmail top came off. She realized that it would soon slip and lead to more exposure, she grabbed the top and said, “Alright.” She held the silver top in place and she turned her back to the camera. She continued to sing as she walked to the back of the stage.

Her backup singers played “Party in the U.S.A.” She barely missed a beat and quickly returned to center stage. She had ditched the slippery top for a red, open-front blazer, which she had worn earlier in the same show.

The singer didn’t lose her poise. She laughed the moment off and even changed the lyrics of her famous track to humorously mark the moment, singing, “Everybody’s ‘definitely’ looking at me now” and then she added “I’m still in the most clothes that I’ve ever worn on stage.”

More than the wardrobe malfunction, Miley’s expert handling of what could have been an awkward situation expertly set Twitter ablaze. Her fans said that her singing through the malfunction was “a good start to 2022” as well as “the kind of perseverance we all need in 2022.”

Fans also praised her ad-libbing funny lines and appreciated her turning an awkward situation to a funny one and said the “malfunction was handled perfectly.” We at CWEB describe the iconic pop star Miley Cyrus’s handling of the wardrobe malfunction as “grace under fire.”

At the end of the night, Miley Cyrus said that night’s show was “about being flexible, rolling with the punches.” She also said that making the best out of what could be considered the worst circumstances was the “resilience” that everyone should bring in, in the New Year.

The show had Pete Davidson, of “Saturday Night Live” as co-host. The special event took place outdoors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Miley Cyrus said that the crowd who attended the live event was fully vaccinated.
