MLB Angels’ Mike Trout leaves game due to groin tightness

Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout was pulled from the team’s Tuesday game in Anaheim, Calif., against the Boston Red Sox in the third inning due to left groin tightness.

Trout appeared to slow down between home and first base after doubling to right-center field. He remained in the game for a few more pitches before being visited by the trainer and interim manager Phil Nevin. Jo Adell then pinch-ran for Trout at second base.

Adell remained in the game to play right field, with Juan Lagares moving from right to center.

Trout went 2-for-2 on the night with a home run and two RBIs. He snapped a career-worst 0-for-26 slump on Monday with a first-inning single. Despite the skid, the three-time American League Most Valuable Player is batting .284 this year with 14 homers and 30 RBIs.
