Tony Gonsolin was unhittable through six innings before finally allowing a couple of hits and a run in the seventh, as the Los Angeles Dodgers won their 11th straight game with an 8-3 victory over the Royals Friday night in Kansas City.

Gonsolin (14-1) is now tied for the National League lead in wins (14) with Atlanta’s Kyle Wright.

Josh Staumont (3-2) faced five batters without recording an out. He allowed five runs on four hits and a walk.

Kansas City starter Daniel Lynch didn’t allow any runs in his five innings. He only allowed two hits, but four walks and a high pitch count cost him a chance to go further.

The scoreless innings were more costly for Lynch. He allowed a baserunner in each of the first four frames and threw 76 pitches.

Gonsolin, meanwhile, threw only 34 pitches in his first four innings.

Lynch got himself in trouble in the fifth, with his own fielding error, a double by Trayce Thompson and a walk to Mookie Betts to load the bases with no outs, but he escaped. He got Trea Turner to hit a foul pop, he struck out Freddie Freeman and he got Will Smith to fly out to end the inning.

But those four walks and 105 pitches kept Lynch from going back out for the sixth.

The Royals threatened in the sixth, picking up their first two baserunners on walks to Kyle Isbel and MJ Melendez before Bobby Witt Jr. popped out to end the threat.

The Dodgers didn’t let their next opportunity slip away. Once again in the seventh, they loaded the bases with no outs against Staumont. Turner rolled a single between third and short, scoring two runs. Freeman followed with an RBI double. A wild pitch and Justin Turner’s sacrifice fly plated the fourth and fifth runs.

Kansas City’s first hit was a one-out single by Vinnie Pasquantino in the seventh. Michael A. Taylor’s two-out double scored Pasquantino.

Thompson removed any doubt with a three-run homer in the eighth.

Salvador Perez added a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth.
