Netflix releases celebrity couple Harry and Meghan’s documentary: divides royal fans

On Thursday, giant streaming platform Netflix dropped the first part of the explosive Netflix documentary on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The first three episodes are available to stream. Royal fans have divisive opinions on Part 1. Some fans have called it amazing and more while others said it was boring and exploitative.

The series begins with a written statement that calls it a “first hand account of Harry & Meghan’s story with never before seen personal archive.” It also said that all interviews had been finished by August 2022, a week or more before the demise of Queen Elizabeth II. It also said that the “Royal Family declined to comment on the content within this series.” However, the Royal Family has disputed this.

The docuseries is directed by Oscar-nominated Liz Garbus.

Netflix bills it as a global event and says that Harry and Meghan have shared “the other side of their high-profile love story.”

Some of the royal fans have called the first part of the documentary “amazing,” “likable” and “sincere” while others called it “boring” or a “long plotted publicity exercise” that helped the couple earn millions.

Piers Morgan, a popular British host and a critic of the couple called it boring and described it as “worse than Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”

One fan joked, “I think everyone should boycott Harry and Meghan’s show on Netflix, out of respect for their privacy.”
