The increased number of COVID-19 cases reported in Los Angeles has led Hollywood studio Lionsgate to reinstate mask mandates for several of its employees.
In a company-wide email obtained by Deadline, it was announced that almost half of the company’s employees must wear “medical grade” face masks again in the flagship offices in the Santa Monica office in Los Angeles. The rule applies “except when alone in an office with the door closed, actively eating, actively drinking at their desk or workstation, or if they are the only individual present in a large open workspace.”
Additionally, employees are now required to self-screen regularly and to stay at home if they have symptoms or have recently returned from an international trip within the last 10 days. The business is also bringing contact tracing back and, where needed, offering at-home test kits.
Following positive tests from many employees, the measures are being reinstated. The Los Angeles County Public Health Department reported a small rise in Covid cases in July of 2023.
