Bleecker Street is an American film distribution company based in New York City. The company was named after Andrew Karpen’s prior company, Focus Features’ street address, 65 Bleecker Street.
At the September 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, Bleecker Street made its first film deal for Pawn Sacrifice‘s North American rights.
In January 2015 at Sundance Film Festival, Bleecker Street made its first acquisition of worldwide rights with the purchase of Brett Haley‘s I’ll See You In My Dreams. Also at the festival, the company signed on with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment for a multiyear Blu-ray, DVD, Electronic Sell-through and Video-on-Demand platforms deal. Also that month, Bleecker signed a Canadian distributor multi-year deal with Elevation Picturesstarting with Danny Collins. Bleecker followed that up with an exclusive subscription multi-year content licensing agreement with Amazon Prime.
