San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle is expected to make his season debut on Sunday night against the host Denver Broncos, coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday.

Kittle missed the 49ers’ first two games of the season with a groin injury he sustained in practice on Sept. 5. He was limited in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday before turning for the full session on Friday.

“He’s good to go. I thought he got better each day,” Shanahan said on Friday. “He means a ton in both (the run game and the pass game). Kittle’s been one of our better players here over the years. When he’s out there, he’s a huge deal for us. We’ve got to get him back into football shape and stuff because he hasn’t played in a little bit. But he helps us in every facet we do.”

Kittle, 28, caught 71 passes for 910 yards and six touchdowns in 14 starts last season.

The three-time Pro Bowl selection has not played a full season since 2018 due to various injuries.

Also, San Francisco running back Tyrion Davis-Price (ankle), offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill (hamstring) and tight end Tyler Kroft (knee) did not practice on Friday. All three have been ruled out against Denver.

Additionally, defensive lineman Arik Armstead (foot) did not practice on Friday and joins offensive lineman Colton McKivitz (ankle) in being listed as questionable versus the Broncos.
