Aaron Hernandez are formally asking that his first-degree murder conviction be dismissed in Massachusetts now that he has died. A spokesman for the Bristol district attorney’s office says the motion was filed by defense attorneys on Tuesday in Superior Court. He says prosecutors will oppose the motion. Hernandez hanged himself at a maximum-security state prison last week, just days after he was acquitted of fatally shooting two Boston men in 2012.
It was reported that Aaron Hernandez’s family could get $3.5 MILLION from the Patriots after his suicide thanks to quirk of Massachusetts law but the families of his alleged victims want the money too.
The New England Patriots will likely have to get ready for a big payout to Aaron Hernandez’s family and daughter, it has emerged.The team had withheld a $3.5 million payment – a portion of his signing bonus – after he was convicted in 2015 of the 2013 murder of semi-pro player and friend Odin Lloyd.
