Paul Mooney, iconic comic, and writer for Richard Pryor, dies at 79.  Paul Mooney passed away at 79. His is publicist, Cassandra Williams has confirmed he died of heart attack. He passed away in at his home in Oakland, California.

The talented and much-loved comedian and comedic writer was a legend in the industry. His writings about American life and racism were applauded by his audience. Richard Pryor and Money had a long-standing relationship about comedy, and life in general.

Pryor passed in 2005, Their relationship began in 1968.  Both comedians wrote a documentary  together  that was published in his 2007 memoir  titled “Black Is the New White.”

Mooney was the head writer on “In Living Color,”.  He assisted to create and inspire the Homey D. Clown character. He played the future foretelling Negrodamus on “Chappelle’s Show.”

Mooney also appeared in Spike Lees’ film Bamboozled in 2000. He also was in Sam Cook’s “The Buddy Holly Story.”
