Ray Rice was a pillar of the Ravens and the Baltimore community. He frequently appeared at charity events and he spoke out a lot against cyberbullying. What he did to his wife that night was horrible. But he acknowledged it, went through treatment, stayed with his wife and sought out therapy, and I truly believe it was a one-time drunken mistake.

Additionally, anyone who judges Ray Rice needs to check their racial biases and celebrity bias. Frat boys in college do far worse things and yet society and courts explain away their behavior as ‘indiscretions’. Ray Rice has atoned and paid for his one bad incident, and he is well deserving of our second chance.
