Humane, a startup backed by Open AI’s Sam Altman and others has developed a wearable AI device. The AI pin powered with ChatGPT will be shipped early next year. It is a wearable gadget and is expected to reduce screen time. It will also change how humans interact with technology.

The AI pin from Humane was developed in November and the startup said that it is ready to take orders and shipments are expected to begin in March 2024. The wearable pin is a screen-less gadget. It can be worn on clothing. It will perform simple tasks using AI. It is priced beginning at $699 and will be launched in the U.S.

Humane posted on social media details on the launch including shipping details and said that its AI pin will be shipped in the booking order that they have received and would be based on the date of purchase by their earliest supporters.

Team Humane also expressed gratitude to their customers for their support and enthusiasm for the Ai Pin which was described as the world’s first wearable computer that has been powered by AI.

The website has listed features that will be available on the AI pin but says that the features could change. Humane describes its device as “beyond touch and screens” and also says that the AI pin uses a laser ink display.

The wearer’s hand becomes the display and the AI pin will show the menu and more. The site gives instructions and more on how to use its Ai Pin as a phone replacement that does not need a traditional screen.

The Ai Pin uses voice to interact with the wearer. It displays controls, incoming calls, and more on the wearer’s palm.

It will take March 2024 and beyond to gauge the popularity of Humane’s AI pin. Early adopters will be able to analyze the effectiveness though it becoming mainstream, which could take time as many consumers are still used to screens on gadgets and devices.
