Store Hours on New Year’s Eve: Walmart, Target, Macy’s, Marshalls, Lowe’s, Best Buy & Home Depot



The end of the year is literally around the corner on Thursday and what a year it’s been! Add some end of year cheer with last-minute shopping on New Year Eve in retail stores as well as online.


Here’s a few stores that will remain open according to various websites and media including Offers, Country Living and USA today. Timings may vary on a store to store basis.


Apple, Starbucks, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Old Navy, Dollar Tree and CVS has not specified timings as timings may vary store by store.


Barnes and Noble, Gap, Ikea, Macy’s, Michaels, Marshalls and Nordstrom say most of their stores would close by 6 p.m..


Home Depot and Lowe’s  have specified timings from 6 a.m to 6 p.m. while Bass Pro Shops and Office Depot will stay open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m..


Bed Bath & Beyond, Pet Smart, Sam’s Club and Costco say that they will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Best Buy and JCPenney will stay open from 11 a.m to 7 p.m..


Target will work from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. while Walmart will stay open the longest hours up to 10 p.m or 11 p.m depending on the location of the store.


Online shopping


There are lots and lots of online sales to choose from. Spend time to browse and you might find fantastic deals on smaller websites. Large retailers including Walmart, Macy’s, Kohl’s, Lululemon, Wayfair, Coach, Brooklinen and Nordstrom are also offering clearance sales, end of year sales, half year sales and after Christmas sales.
