Brionna Jones and Alyssa Thomas each had 18 points and six rebounds apiece as the Connecticut Sun won their fourth straight game Sunday afternoon, taking a 92-70 road win over the Indiana Fever in Indianapolis.

The Sun (4-1) won without star forward DeWanna Bonner, who was sidelined for rest. Additionally, starting guard Jasmine Thomas left the game in the first quarter with a knee injury.

Victoria Vivians led the Fever (2-6) with 15 points, two assists and two steals.

The Sun nearly led wire-to-wire, taking the lead for the first time at the 7:36 mark of the first quarter on a 6-foot jumper shot from Jonquel Jones. Connecticut never relinquished its grasp on the advantage from there. The Sun finished the opening quarter on a 15-6 run to build an 11-point lead. Brionna Jones and Alyssa Thomas each scored six points during that stretch.

Connecticut kept its advantage in the second quarter, outscoring Indiana 28-26. The period featured a pair of deep 25-foot 3-pointers from Natisha Hiedeman. Hiedeman finished the game with nine points and five assists off the bench.

The Sun eventually grew their lead to as many as 24 points.

Also for the Sun, Courtney Williams had 15 points and Jonquel Jones notched 13 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Alyssa Thomas also had a team-best six assists.

Williams was especially effective in the third quarter for Connecticut, racking up six points, two boards and two assists — highlighted by a nifty pick-and-roll dime to Brionna Jones.

For the third straight game, the Fever played without No. 2 overall pick NaLyssa Smith, who is nursing an ankle injury. Bria Hartley also didn’t play for the Fever due to a hamstring injury.

The fourth overall pick, Emily Engstler, finished with 11 points and seven rebounds for Indiana.

The Sun had a 33-29 advantage on the boards and shot 51.5 percent from the floor, compared to the Fever’s 34.9 percent shooting mark.
