Trump launches weird attack on LeBron James, says NBA star could get sex reassignment surgery and compete as a woman

On Saturday night, former President Donald Trump addressed a rally in Phoenix, Arizona. In his two-hour rambling speech, he launched a bizarre attack on NBA star LeBron James. He said that that James “could get the operation” to be eligible to compete in women’s sports. This weird rant is not his first against the star who has also not hidden his lack of support for Trump. Incidentally, LeBron James identifies as male.

In the speech Trump mentioned that if he were a coach of a woman’s sports team, he would not be talking to too many women as he knew women. Instead, he said that he would recruit “some of these people that, they’re ‘women.’” Trump was referring to transgender sportspersons.

However, the speech became weird when he mused that someone said that if LeBron James ever decided to get the operation, how would he play on the basketball court. He was indicating the possibility of a sex reassignment change for the NBA star, which is strange as the star has never indicated such a possibility.

Trump did not stop with the musing but decided to hit out on his basketball skills as he said, “LeBron James, you can have him.”

He further made fun of James by asking the crowd if they had seen the basketball ratings that were terrible. “Did you see the basketball ratings which were terrible – but went up after his team was defeated.” Trump said when speaking at a “Protect Our Elections” rally in Arizona.

A while ago, Trump had released a statement calling LeBron James “racist” “divisive” “mean” and more when a tweet from James allegedly threatened the cop who shot Ma’Khia Bryant. The tweet said, “you’re next.” James later took the tweet down. Incidentally, a video showed a knife next to Bryant as she was shot during her altercation with another person who fled the scene when the police officer arrived.
