Walmart & General Motors Come Together to Test Driverless Delivery

Walmart and General Motors Cruise are planning to test the efficacy of self-driving cars to deliver orders to customers. The test drive will take place from a Walmart store in Scottsdale Arizona to unnamed customers.

Walmart executives have said that they have been exploring the use of self-driven cars in the past as they continue to explore new ideas to expand their retail footprint all over the country. If the proposed test drive with Cruise would work well, they would expand operations with GM Cruise throughout the United States of America.

Tom Ward, SVP of Customer Product, Walmart stated: “We may be growing delivery options today, but we are still experimenting with new ways we can use technology to serve customers in the future. This time, we’re cruise over to Scottsdale Arizona, to rev up a new pilot with self-driving car company Cruise. What’s unique about Cruise is they’re the only self-driving car company to operate an entire fleet of all-electric vehicles powered with 100% renewable energy, which supports our road to zero emissions by 2040.”

Recently Walmart was collaborating with Ultra Beauty to open their makeup and skin products shops in Walmart stores across the country.
