On Wednesday, celebrity Hugh Jackman posted a video asking the Academy not to nominate the song ‘Good Afternoon’ from Spirited for Best Original Song. He said that he loved both the song and the movie but added that his friend celebrity actor Ryan Reynolds would make his life “insufferable” if he got nominated.
Celebrity Hugh Jackman said in his video that he wanted to start 2023 by sharing a “positive message” but was unable to do so as a result of certain events. He praised the performances of celebrity stars Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer.
The Wolverine star described Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who are responsible for the soundtrack of ‘Spirited’, as “incredible” and said that he loved their music.
He continued by saying that their song “Good Afternoon” had been shortlisted for a nomination by the Academy. He described the song as “absolutely brilliant” and said that he had “laughed” as he had listened to the song.

He then added the punch lines to his video by asking the Academy not to nominate the song for an Oscar award as it would make his “life insufferable” as he would be working with celebrity actor Ryan Reynolds through most of 2023 as they would be shooting for the next “Deadpool” movie, where he would play the role of Wolverine, once again. Jackman added that “it would be impossible and it would be a problem.”
Hugh Jackman concluded the video by praising celebrity stars Ferrell and Spencer and the musical dup Pasek and Paul by mentioning his love for them as well as the movie they created. But he added that he requested them from the bottom of his heart not to “validate Ryan Reynolds in this way, please.”
Celebrity Ryan Reynolds replied to the humorous appeal by Hugh Jackman in his own humorous way. He posted that he disagreed as he thought that the “deepfakes that sung and danced for Will and I would love to perform at the Oscars.” Fans are super excited.
As the two celebrity stars–Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman joke about each other, while they remain good friends, fans are delighted that they will appear together in the film “Deadpool.”
