Celebrity Andy Cohen generally grills people with his hard-hitting questions but the executive producer of The Real Housewives franchise was at the opposite end when he was relentlessly questioned on a talk show by a popular host. Cohen was left spluttering as he was not only unable to answer the host but was also put on the defensive as he had to explain his recent controversial remarks.

Bravo’s Andy Cohen recently appeared on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? on HBO Max. Wallace asked Cohen why he had taken Jen Shah’s side against whom she had defrauded.

The former alum of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (RHOSLC) Jen Shah has recently been sentenced to 6.5 years in prison, after pleading guilty. She defrauded thousands of people, including the elderly, in a telemarketing fraud scheme.

Andy Cohen tried to explain that he hoped that she wouldn’t get a prison term as she had pleaded not guilty to the fraud charge in November but Wallace corrected Cohen and said that Cohen had made those remarks after she had changed her plea to guilty.

Cohen then became bereft of words and said, “Oh, really? Oh, God.” He declared that he was unaware of the context when he said that but he thought that he said it when fans had been asking what would happen to Shah on the Real Housewives show.

After these questions he agreed with host Wallace that Shah should serve a prison term and offered an explanation saying, “sometimes you get to know someone and you get to like them, you hope they are not guilty of something horrible.” Fans are excited.

Wallace also questioned the Bravo executive about the Real Housewives franchise by playing clips of the series and asked Cohen if he was embarrassed by what he did.

Cohen sounded defensive as he claimed that he was not embarrassed. The Bravo executive added that the Real Housewives made “so many people happy.” According to Andy Cohen, the Real Housewives series by Bravo has “real great moments.”
