Cooper the dog was supposed to fly from Halifax to Deer Lake, N.L., to stay with family while his person went to Jamaica for a wedding. But by mistake, WestJet put Cooper on a flight to Hamilton, where he slipped his collar when airline employees took him out for a pee. West Jet flew his person to Hamilton. Employees took to the streets. And local residents who heard the story on the news turned out in droves to search all night in the pouring rain. They were reunited this morning.
1. Westjet sent the dog to the wrong airport in a different province;
2. Westjet workers then lost the dog at the wrong airport;
3. Westjet then put the open crate out by the side of the road, hoping the familiar smells would lure the dog back…and then someone stole the crate.
