The Billboard 100 is back to its traditional look after its festive themes during the holidays. Most of the favorite singers are also back at their top positions, with a few ups and downs on the charts.
The top four are the same as from last week and from 2020. They are:
- 24kGoldn’s Mood featuring iann dior
- Arianna Grande’s Positions
- The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights
- Justin Bieber’s Holy featuring Chance the Rapper
However, there most probably will be a major upheaval next week as there’s a new kid on the block called Olivia Rodrigo. The 17-year old’s single Drivers License debuted on Friday January 8, 2021.
Interscope Records will start promoting Drivers License on pop radio next week. The video has been directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen.
The single has already created a buzz with the number of streams in a short period of time. Listeners took to social media to share their reactions, responses and theories about the meaning of its lyrics.
This social media hype increased the streams a lot more than the current top streamers including Bieber and 24kGoldn.
The streaming percent rose to 122 from Friday to Saturday and another 32 percent in the next day — from Saturday to Sunday. The single has taken the top position in both Apple and Spotify’ daily charts and seems to be continuing on an upward trajectory.
