A document entitled ‘Naming Rules for Ethnic Minorities’ prohibits names used by Muslim parents around the world including Imam, Hajj, Islam, Quran, Saddam, Medina and Islam, Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported.

China bans Muslim baby names in Xinjiang. Today according to news reports, children with the banned names will not be able to get a residence permit called “hukou”, which is required for access to medical and educational services.
