Top-seeded Taylor Fritz of the U.S. fell in a tough three-set match against Yibing Wu of China on Saturday in the semifinals of the Dallas Open.

Wu, ranked 97th in the world, won 6-7 (3), 7-5, 6-4 in the 2 1/2-hour match and advances to Sunday’s final against another American, fifth-seeded John Isner. The American defeated countryman J.J. Wolf, the sixth seed, in another three-set close call, 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (4). That match also topped 2 1/2 hours.

Fritz scored 20 aces to six for Wu, but Wu — the first Chinese man to reach an ATP Tour final in the Open Era — saved all nine break points he faced, while Fritz saved only 2 of 4.

Isner, who lives in Dallas, registered 46 winners to 26 for Wolf and survived despite having 26 unforced errors to 15 for Wolf.

Cordoba Open

Both Argentine players who made the semifinals in Cordoba, Argentina, advanced to the final with wins on Saturday.

Sixth-seeded Federico Coria took out third-seeded Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-4, 7-6 (2), and Sebastian Baez, the fourth seed, dispatched qualifier Hugo Dellien of Bolivia 6-4, 6-4.

Baez is ranked 47th in the world and Coria is No. 67.

Open Sud de France

Maxime Cressy of the U.S. defeated top-seeded Holger Rune of Denmark 7-5, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (4) in a tough match to advance to Sunday’s final in Montpellier, France.

Cressy finished with 15 aces to eight for Rune. He also had a return rating of 111 to just 47 for Rune in the match that lasted nearly 2 hours, 40 minutes.

Cressy, who is ranked No. 51 in the world, will take on second-seeded Jannik Sinner of Italy. Sinner, ranked 17th in the world, earned his berth in the final by taking out wild card Arthur Fils of France 7-5, 6-2.
