The Vegas Legion, New York Subliners and Boston Breach opened qualifying for the Call of Duty League’s Major III with victories on Friday.

Vegas was a 3-1 winner over the Los Angeles Thieves, the runners-up at Major II earlier this month. New York defeated the Minnesota Rokkr 3-2, and Boston took down the Toronto Ultra 3-1.

Major III, which will include all 12 Call of Duty League teams, will be hosted by OpTic Texas March 9-12 in Arlington, Texas. Qualifying for tournament weekend runs through March 5.

The Thieves opened their match with a 250-130 win on Mercado Las Almas Hardpoint before Vegas scored a 6-4 win on Al Bagra Fortress Search & Destroy, a 3-2 victory on Breenbergh Hotel Control and a 250-201 triumph on Embassy Hardpoint. James “Clayster” Eubanks had a game-high 87 kills and a plus-1.12 K-D ratio for Vegas.

The Rokkr took an early lead by beating New York 250-206 on Al Bagra Fortress Hardpoint. The Subliners struck back by winning 6-1 on Mercado Las Almas Search & Destroy and 3-1 on Al Bagra Fortress Control. Minnesota knotted it two maps apiece by taking Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint 250-227, but the Subliners pulled out a 6-5 squeaker on Al Bagra Fortress Search & Destroy for the win.

Paco “HyDra” Rusiewiez of France carried New York with 100 kills and a plus-1.18 ratio.

Like the day’s other losing sides, the Ultra won their first map, 250-227 on Al Bagra Fortress Hardpoint. The Breach answered with a 6-3 win on Breenbergh Hotel Search & Destroy, then pulled out narrow victories of 3-2 on Al Bagra Fortress Control and 250-242 on Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint to wrap up the match. Dylan “Nero” Koch had a team-high 90 kills for Boston, while teammate Joseph “Owakening” Conley added 87 kills on a plus-1.36 ratio.

Action continues Saturday with four matches:
–Boston Breach vs. London Royal Ravens
–Atlanta FaZe vs. Florida Mutineers
