OpTic Texas downed the Carolina Royals Ravens 3-1 on Saturday to improve to 4-0 in qualifying action for the Call of Duty League’s Stage 2 Major.

Texas took Invasion Hardpoint 250-191 before falling 6-1 on Highrise Search & Destroy. That would be all Carolina would get, though, as OpTic prevailed 3-0 on Invasion Control and 250-206 on Rio Hardpoint to maintain its perfect record.

Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro of the United States racked up 99 kills to go along with a plus-1.55 kill-death ratio for Texas.

All 12 CDL teams will play seven qualifying matches ahead of the Stage 2 Major, scheduled for March 21-24 in Miami. Every team will advance to the double-elimination tournament, with the qualifying matches determining seeding.

Each qualifier win is worth 10 points. The prize pool for the tournament (money and CDL points) has yet to be announced.

The Toronto Ultra won the Stage 1 Major in January.

In other action Saturday, the Las Vegas Legion and Seattle Surge picked up 3-0 sweeps of the Boston Breach and Los Angeles Guerrillas, respectively.

Dylan “Nero” Koch led the all-American Las Vegas side with 62 kills and a plus-1.27 K-D ratio, helping the Legion earn victories on Karachi Hardpoint (250-244), Karachi Search & Destroy (6-3) and Invasion Control (3-2).

Seattle opened its match with a 250-244 triumph on Karachi Hardpoint, then edged Los Angeles 6-4 on Invasion Search & Destroy. The Surge completed the shutout with a 3-1 showing on Karachi Control.

Belgium’s Jordan “Abuzah” Francois had 52 kills and 41 deaths for Seattle.

Week 3 action continues on Sunday with three matches:
–Miami Heretics vs. New York Subliners
–Atlanta FaZe vs. Toronto Ultra
–Minnesota Rokkr vs. Los Angeles Thieves
