The Toronto Ultra joined the Atlanta FaZe as the second team to reach 2-0 in qualifying for the Call of Duty League’s Stage 3 Major on Friday.

Toronto defeated the Miami Heretics 3-1, while OpTic Texas swept the Seattle Surge 3-0 and the Carolina Royal Ravens beat the New York Subliners 3-2.

All 12 CDL teams will play seven qualifying matches ahead of the Stage 3 Major, scheduled for May 16-19 in Toronto. Every team will advance to the double-elimination tournament, with the qualifying matches determining seeding.

Each qualifier win is worth 10 points. The prize pool for the tournament (money and CDL points) has yet to be announced.

The Ultra won the Stage 1 Major in January. The FaZe won the Stage 2 Major in March.

On Friday, Toronto fell behind as Miami won 250-163 on Vista Hardpoint but rebounded to win the next three maps and seal the victory. Toronto took Karachi Search and Destroy (6-5), Invasion Control (3-0) and Karachi Hardpoint (250-213).

OpTic opened with a 250-215 victory on 6 Star Hardpoint, then followed that with a 6-5 win on Highrise Search and Destroy before closing it out with a 3-0 triumph on Karachi Control.

Carolina jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the Subliners with victories on Sub Base Hardpoint (250-225) and Rio Search and Destroy (6-4) and appeared poised to pull off the sweep. However, New York rebounded with wins on Highrise Control (3-2) and Rio Hardpoint (250-189) to force a decisive map. The Royal Ravens were up to the task, defeating the Subliners 6-1 to secure the win.

Play continues Saturday with three matches:
–Los Angeles Thieves vs. Miami Heretics
–Vegas Legion vs. OpTic Texas
–Seattle Surge vs. New York Subliners
