The Brooklyn Nets provided injury updates Wednesday for guards Ben Simmons, Cam Thomas and Dennis Smith Jr.

Simmons has missed the past six games with a nerve impingement in his back. The team said he is improving with treatment and has started light individual work on the court. His status will be updated in 7-10 days.

Thomas has missed five games with a left ankle sprain. He has been cleared for increased on-court activity and is expected to rejoin team activities next week.

An MRI confirmed a lower back sprain for Smith, who sat out Sunday’s 121-99 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. He is receiving treatment and is considered day-to-day.

Simmons, 27, is averaging 10.8 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 6.5 points in six starts this season.

Thomas, 22, is averaging 26.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in eight games (seven starts).

Smith, 25, is contributing 5.8 points, 3.2 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 11 games off the bench.
