Celebrity singer Michelle Branch has filed for divorce from her celebrity husband of three years, Patrick Carney, a drummer in The Black Keys, in Tennessee, on Friday. The 39-year old singer of the track Goodbye to You cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. Earlier on Thursday, she had been arrested for domestic violence and hours before that she accused her 42-year old husband of cheating on her, while she was home, with their newborn, on a social media post but later deleted it.

In the divorce filing, Branch has asked for primary custody of their children: Rhys James, who is four and Wille Paquet, who is six-months old. She has said that she wants her soon to be ex husband to spend time with their kids. She has asked for child support. According to the filing, she also wants Carney to pay her legal fees.

According to TMZ, who saw the court documents, the couple will be required to complete a parenting court. The judge orders this requirement in all cases from this specific court.

The outlet also said that the couple had split just hours after she had posted on Twitter that the drummer had cheated on her. Shortly after the post, police were called to Michelle and Patrick’s home. The singer admitted that she had slapped her husband “one or two times in the face.” She was arrested for domestic assault and released on a $1000 bond as she had to breastfeed her infant daughter.

This has been an eventful year for the Everywhere celebrity singer. Earlier in February, multi Grammy award winner Michelle Branch gave birth to their second child together, daughter Willie Paquet, with celebrity husband. In June, she had posted a tribute to Patrick Carney on Father’s Day and gushed about him. In August, the couple are splitting.
