Five different players scored goals as Jamaica dominated St. Kitts and Nevis 5-0 in Group A action on Sunday in Santa Clara, Calif.

Jamaica (2-0-1) advances to the knockout stage against the winner of Group D on July 9 in Cincinnati. The United States, which shut out Trinidad and Tobago 6-0 on Sunday, won Group A to move to the quarterfinals by tying Jamaica with seven points (2-0-1) while holding the goal-differential tiebreaker (plus-12 to plus-8).

On Sunday, goalkeeper Julani Archibald of St. Kitts (0-3-0) scored an own goal in the 30th minute to give its opponent a head start. The rest was all Jamaica, as Jonathan Russell scored two minutes into extra time in the first half, Di’Shon Bernard tallied a score in the 49th, Daniel Johnson made it 4-0 in the 72nd minute and Cory Burke followed two minutes later.

Starting goalkeeper Jahmali Waite and substitute Coniah Boyce-Clarke (entering in the 82nd minute) combined for the clean sheet, with each making one save. Jamaica controlled 67 percent of possession time and had a huge advance in shots (18-6) and those on target (6-2). Each side totaled two saves.

In a late game in Charlotte, N.C., Jerry Bengtson scored in the 42nd minute and Jose Pinto found the back of the net in the 59th as Honduras beat Haiti 2-1.

Despite the victory, Honduras (1-1-1) still failed to advance to the knockout stage, as did Haiti (1-2-0), which got a goal from Frantzdy Pierrot in the 20th minute on Sunday.

Qatar also played later Sunday night, beating Mexico 1-0 in Santa Clara.

Hazem Shehata’s goal in the 27th minute was all Qatar (1-1-1) needed to move on to the knockout stage from Group B. Mexico (2-1-0) also advanced by finishing atop the group. Meshaal Barsham finished with six saves for Qatar.
