Baylor Scheierman recorded 17 points, 10 rebounds and a season-best six assists to help Creighton roll to a 104-76 victory over St. John’s on Wednesday night at Omaha, Neb.

Ryan Kalkbrenner scored 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting and had three blocked shots and Ryan Nembhard added 16 points and six assists for Creighton (12-8, 6-3 Big East). Arthur Kaluma had 14 points and Trey Alexander scored 12 as the Bluejays won their third straight game.

Freshman AJ Storr scored a career-best 23 points for St. John’s (13-8, 3-7), which lost for the seventh time in the past nine games. Joel Soriano registered 18 points and nine rebounds, David Jones scored 13 points and Dylan Addaie-Wusu added 10 points for the Red Storm.

St. John’s played without Big East steals leader Posh Alexander (2.3 per game), who was sidelined due to an ankle injury.

Creighton shot 56.7 percent from the field, including 11 of 30 (36.7 percent) from 3-point range, while posting a season high for points.

The Red Storm made 46.3 percent of their field-goal attempts and were 6 of 13 (46.2 percent) from behind the arc.

The Bluejays led by 13 at the break and started pulling away seven minutes into the second half.

Nembhard drove for a layup to start a 22-7 burst. Scheierman added a driving hoop to cap the run and make it 86-59 with 6:13 remaining.

Zander Yates drained a trey to push the Bluejays over 100 points for the first time since a 106-104 overtime loss to Marquette on Jan. 9, 2019.

Creighton’s lead topped out at 31 points.

Kalkbrenner scored 14 first-half points as Creighton led 52-39 at intermission. Storr had 16 in the half for St. John’s.

Storr’s 3-pointer gave the Red Storm a 15-12 lead with 15:01 left in the first half before the Bluejays took charge.

Creighton went on a 15-4 run with Fredrick King scoring on a put-back to give the Bluejays a 27-19 advantage with 8:01 remaining. Creighton stretched the lead to 13 by the end of the half.
