Astralis promoted academy player Alexander “Altekz” Givskov to the main Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster on Monday.

The move follows a disappointing finish (12th-14th place) at last week’s Paris Major 2023 European Regional Major Ranking B event.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether the 19-year-old Dane is replacing someone in the starting lineup or serving as a sixth player.

“As a result of (his) consistent, high performance on the talent line-up throughout 2023 and even before, the coaches have decided to include him in the main roster for the coming weeks,” Astralis tweeted Monday.

Altekz joins an all-Danish roster that features Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, Benjamin “blameF” Bremer, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, Andreas “Xyp9x” Hojsleth and Christian “Buzz” Andersen.

Astralis will return to action at Brazy Party 2023 on April 26. The 16-team online event features a $333,000 prize pool.
