Astralis reached an agreement with Casper “ruggah” Due to become the next head coach of their Counter-Strike team, the Danish organization announced Tuesday.

Per Astralis, ruggah will assume the post “no later than April 1” when his contract with OG runs out. He effectively will replace Peter “casle” Ardenskjold, who was relieved of his duties on Dec. 20.

The 35-year-old ruggah served as OG’s coach since January 2020.

“I am happy that we have come to an agreement with Casper, who, in addition to being a really skilled coach, comes with experience from the highest level,” Astralis sports director Kasper Straube said in a statement.

“This is one of our priorities in the larger analysis work we have done around the requirements for a coach in Astralis and our culture, as well as the expectations we have for all members of our coaching team.

“I feel that we have been thorough in mapping out the requirements in relation to both short-term needs and long-term development, and the choice has fallen on Casper, who, in terms of personality and approach to team management, is almost a perfect match. I am very much looking forward to working with him.”

Astralis’ all-Danish roster consists of Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, Martin “stavn” Lund, Benjamin “blameF” Bremer, Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard and Victor “Staehr” Staehr. Fellow Denmark natives Christian “Buzz” Andersen and Andreas “Xyp9x” Hojsleth are inactive.
